Timeless Craft & Hidden Treasures: Anneka & Dave in Jodhpur

Anneka and Dave’s 2026 buying journey has brought them to Jodhpur—one of India’s most celebrated destinations for antique furniture and masterful craftsmanship. After a scenic overnight journey across Rajasthan, they arrived in a city where history and artistry exist side by side, woven into everyday life.

From the moment they began exploring, Jodhpur revealed itself as a place unlike any other. Lining the streets and workshop exteriors were hundreds-year-old doors—each one rich with layers of paint, weathered textures, and untold stories. These pieces, many sourced from Gujarat, are carefully restored by skilled artisans who honour their original character while giving them new life. Often, the antique panels are encased in fresh wood, creating a balance between preservation and functionality.

Among these remarkable finds, Anneka and Dave selected one truly special door that will be making its way back to One World Bazaar. It’s more than just a statement piece—it’s a fragment of history, reimagined for a new home.

Inside the textile workshops, the artistry continues in a different form. Here, they witnessed the thoughtful process behind fabric creation: designs are first sketched directly onto cloth using chalk, mapped out section by section with precision and care. From there, electric cutters move smoothly through multiple layers at once—an efficient, modern technique that works in harmony with traditional design practices.

Jodhpur feels like a living archive of Indian craftsmanship. Every object, every process, and every space reflects generations of knowledge passed down through skilled hands. It’s this deep connection to heritage that makes the city such an essential stop on Anneka and Dave’s journey.

This is why they travel—to build relationships with artisans, to understand the stories behind each piece, and to thoughtfully curate items that carry meaning, history, and soul.

As their journey continues, each destination adds another layer to the collection they’re bringing home—pieces that don’t just decorate a space, but tell a story.
